The School Committee adopted their budget guidelines and priorities (http://www NULL.brookline NULL.k12 NULL.ma NULL.us/index NULL.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=982) for FY2013 at their meeting on Thursday, December 15, 2011. This document, which is developed in collaboration with the administration, guides the budget development process.
The Superintendent delivered his budget message (http://www NULL.brookline NULL.k12 NULL.ma NULL.us/index NULL.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=1049) for FY2013 on Thursday, February 16, 2012. The message outlines the proposed spending priorities for the coming fiscal year.
The specifics of the FY2013 budget recommendation will be delivered to the School Committee on Thursday, March 1, 2012.
Last spring, as part of the Public Schools of Brookline (PSB) efforts to implement a new bullying prevention plan, students in grades 3, 5, 7, and 9 were invited to participate in a survey about school climate and peer relationships, with particular focus on the extent to which students perceive bullying to be occurring in our schools. I am writing today to give you a brief review of our major findings and to describe the next steps for the schools around bullying and student safety.
