Dear RUNKLE COMMUNITY,

18-22_1We’re pleased to announce that Runkle’s Young Scholars will shortly begin selling ‘They Led the Way and Still Inspire Us Today‘ T-Shirts in recognition of Black History Month. Look out for additional details coming soon. The Young Scholars are asking for those who purchase T-Shirts to wear them in unity on Feb 28th. In addition the PTO Annual Fund is purchasing a beautiful banner for Black History month that will be used yearly to be on display in the school. 18-22_2

Following incidents of racist vandalism at both Brookline High School and Pierce School in December, Pierce community leaders have been considering how to build a more welcoming environment for all students.

The Pierce Diversity group is looking for parents in other schools, with similar interests, who would like to team up in coordinating and aligning work and resources in these efforts. They have also developed a short anonymous survey to share with the Brookline community to collect more suggestions and concerns, Parents’ Role in School Equity & Inclusion Survey (https://docs NULL.google NULL.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSej4mIIby-iDhDZc0tEaqKhRnh19B5qi8AY4NlUkFJCEStPFw/viewform). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Colin Stokes (colinstoked null@null gmail NULL.com).

We hope to see many of you at Runkle Recycle Bingo Night this Friday Feb 9th 5:30-7pm. Please bring in small toys to swap for bingo cards. These toys will be given out as prizes too!

Please refer to the Guidance website (http://www NULL.runkleguidance NULL.com/8th-grade-high-school-transition NULL.html) for helpful information. On Mon, Feb 5th there is Curriculum Night Meeting (http://files NULL.constantcontact NULL.com/5034d71a001/5347c4db-6183-4e72-a27b-7980c6878d5b NULL.pdf?ver=1517758374000) at BHS for Grade 8 families. Thank you Rebecca!

Many thanks to the 6 Runkle families who donated to the PTO Annual Fund this past week. This brings our grand total to 101 families. The library is receiving PTO funding this week. This is important as it directly supports student classroom learning and partnership with the library. We need your help to sustain these programs. If you haven’t already done so, please make a donation to the PTO Annual Fund.

  • Grade 2 Research and Literacy Endeavor
