18-13The PTO welcomes the Runkle community back after a restful and festive time spent with family and friends during the Thanksgiving holiday break. The season of thanks and of giving has begun well! We are so thankful for the continued support from all of the Runkle community. We thank our teachers, staff, principal, and vice principal for their dedication. As the month of November ends and December begins, we want to reflect and show appreciation for all of the generous donations of time, funds, efforts, and talent that creates such a vibrant and diverse Runkle community experience. We could never accomplish so much for our students without such support.

We are proud to begin the season of giving with the PTO Annual Fund’s event, Giving Tuesday, Tues, Nov 28th. All of Runkle families are invited to donate on or before this date. We are thankful to the families who have donated already this year. Every gift amount helps us reach our goal to help fund educational enrichment activities for ALL Runkle students. Please click here to donate.

Join us this Fri, Dec 1st, 1:45-3pm in the lobby to make origami Paper Cranes to be sent to Washington D.C. for MLK Day. Thank you to Runkle parent, Ben Kelley for creating and facilitating this event for the 2nd year running!

There are still a few PTO volunteer coordinator positions that need to be filled:

  • Runkle After School Coordinator (RASP) to take over in September 2018.
  • FoPA coordinator – please read the article in this newsletter for details.
  • METCO captain rep for Runkle (2-3 captains needed).

Have a great week!
