EVERYONE IS WELCOME
I am pleased to provide the following hiring announcements for the 2017-2018 school year:
MEREDITH CHEN and KAITLIN ROK have been hired as our new 2nd Grade Classroom Teachers. Ms. Chen, a graduate of Emmanuel College, has spent the past two years as an intern in Marcy Bienen’s classroom. She will be receiving her Master of Science degree with dual certification in elementary and special education from Wheelock College. Ms. Rok earned her Bachelor and Master degrees from Boston College. Ms. Rok comes to us from the Holmes Elementary School in Boston, where she served as a Grade 1 teacher and literacy coach. Prior to that she was a Special Education teacher in Louisiana. We are most excited to add these dynamic teachers to our second grade staff!
OLIVIA BELOFSKY has been hired as our Grades 6 and 7 English Language Arts teacher. Ms. Belofsky, a graduate of Saint Michael’s College, is earning her Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UMass -Lowell. She has been teaching middle school English Language Arts for the past three years at Dorchester’s Mother Caroline Academy and at Hartford’s Grace Academy for two years prior to that. Ms. Belofsky joins our 6th grade team as an advisor and homeroom teacher, alongside Mr. Cramer and Mr. Domerson.
The Runkle Variety Show made a most triumphant return last Thursday night! We had over 40 acts participate in what was a most entertaining and affirming night. Many thanks to Ms. Bigda and Mr. Lass for their work in resurrecting this special event. Also last Friday was our annual Field Day, which was organized by the Runkle Student Council and Mr. Pelton. Many thanks to all the students, teachers, and parents for their work in putting together the special surprise culmination to the day!
