Dear Families,

Runkle will be saying farewell this year to Ms. Marcy BIenen, 2nd Grade Teacher, and Ms. Geri Belle, 6th and 7th Grade English Language Arts Teacher,  both of whom will be retiring at the end of this school year.  Ms. Bienen and Ms. Belle have each been at Runkle School for roughly 20 years, teaching a generation of Runkle students.  They shared their announcements with their current students and families last month. I have appreciated their love of teaching and lifelong learning and the support for the whole child that helped define each of their tenures at Runkle School.
We have begun the hiring process for these two teaching positions.  If you are aware of educators who may be interested, you should encourage them to apply through the School Spring website by Monday, April 10.  I will be working with incoming Principal Genteen Jean-Michel in these hiring processes.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of HONK! for their joyful and inspiring performances, the last of which was Sunday afternoon. Thank you to Director David Lien, and all of the parents who helped make the show such a memorable success.
We are in the midst of the March MadChess Finals, which features 7th Grade champion Jayanth and 8th Grade champion Sam L competing in a Best 2-out-of-3 series.  Best of luck to both as the series progresses!
A reminder that this Monday, April 3, is Baseball Spirit Day at Runkle!
