Hello, everyone.

I hope you all have had a relaxing and rewarding time with family and friends over this Thanksgiving weekend.

You will soon be receiving a note from the Superintendent’s office regarding an upcoming Principal Search Parent Meeting with Andrew Bott, where you will have the opportunity to share your thoughts on what qualities you are looking for in the future leadership of Runkle School.   (For the record: Yes, I am most interested in continuing at the helm.)   Thank you to those of you who have already given feedback via the parent survey that went out earlier in the month.  I encourage all parents to attend this meeting (date TBA), and have your distinct voices be heard in this most important decision for our community.

Congratulations to the Runkle Volleyball Team for winning the Brookline Championship!  The coordinated and supportive teamwork the players displayed in their Final Match against the Devotion School was most impressive.

In other news, Jen Schultz will be resuming her teaching duties at Runkle, initially on a part-time basis, later this week!   Leslie Chambers, who has been filling in for Ms. Schultz during the fall, will be continuing at Runkle at least through the end of December.  On a related note, Tracy Paradise will be returning from her maternity leave later this week as well!   A special Thank You is in order for Ms. Paradise’s long-term substitute Robin Breitman, to whom we will be saying Good-bye.  Also, Speech-Language Pathologist Erica Landry, has decided to extended her maternity leave through the rest of the school year.  We are pleased to have the most capable Emily Sterber continue in Ms. Landry’s place.

We indeed have much to be thankful for in our community.

Jim Stoddard
