Dear Families,
I am pleased to announce that SAMANTHA LEVINE has been hired as our new 1st grade classroom teacher, and that HANNAH KIMBALL COTE has been hired as our new 3rd grade classroom teacher.
Both of these educators are very well known to us here at Runkle School. Ms. Levine spent the first half of this school year as the lead teacher for Ms. Madden’s 2nd grade classroom, while Ms. Madden was on her maternity leave.  She has continued working in 2nd grade throughout the year, providing support to each of the three classrooms.  Ms. Levine did her student teaching last year in Ms. Voros’s classroom, and she has also worked for Runkle as our Northeastern Coop student and as our Volleyball coach for multiple years.  The Runkle roots for Ms. Cote (nee Kimball) are deep as well, her having taught 3rd grade alongside Ms. Hahesy and Ms. Leonard for three years, in addition to single prior years teaching 5th and 2nd grade.  Earlier this year Ms. Cote returned to the Boston area and has been teaching 3rd grade this Spring, as a long-term substitute, at Brookline’s Lawrence School.   We are delighted that Ms. Levine and Ms. Cote will be part of our Faculty next year.
Congratulations to all of our chorus, band, and strings performers for their impressive concerts this past week!  Thank you as well to Ms.Gardner and Brookline’s traveling music teachers Aleksandra Labinska and John Ferguson (strings), and Michele Cavalieri and Chris Thoft-Brown (band) for all of your work throughout the year with our students.
