Runkle School is proud to offer a variety of options for Music Education, which we call “Conservatory,” in our middle school grades. Students and their families select a Conservatory music option ( http://www NULL.surveymonkey NULL.com/s/6M2S6BN), which meets twice weekly. Please discuss with your child the different options listed below.
Grades 6-8 Band
Students will perform music from a variety of genre’s and styles. The Runkle Band will perform a minimum of 2 concerts per year. 7th and 8th grade band members have the opportunity to audition for MMEA Eastern Junior District Festival. Prior experience playing a band instrument is recommended.

(Grade 6 only) Students play instruments (percussion, keyboards and/or guitars, depending on interests and ability) alone and in small groups to reinforce note reading and ensemble skills. Students compose music for solo instruments and small group ensembles.
